Hit For Haiti fundraising event.

Thousands of tennis fans have arrived at Melbourne Park for the Hit for Haiti fundraising event at Rod Laver Arena today.

Watch live streaming of this event from 2pm on australianopen.com

World No.1 Roger Federer will join Rafael Nadal, Serena Williams, Kim Clijsters, Novak Djokovic, Andy Roddick, and Australians Lleyton Hewitt and Sam Stosur for the special mixed doubles match.

Centre Court at Rod Laver Arena is filling fast as Melburnians show their support with a $10 donation per person being asked for anyone over 12 years of age.

Stay tuned for the special live coverage of this event.

Although it’s the eve of the Australian Open’s first round, Federer has put aside thoughts of his preparation and brought together an entourage of fellow stars to play a special mixed-doubles event at the stadium to support Haiti, which was decimated by a devastating earthquake that measured 7.0 on the Richter Scale last Tuesday

The United Nations has launched an appeal for hundreds of millions of dollars to try to help around three million people in need.

Donations can be made online to Partners in Health www.pih.org
