Kia Motors
Who is Kia Motors?Since the formation of the Hyundai-Kia Automotive Group in 1999, Kia Motors has been a rising star on the global automotive stage. Much of this success can be attributed to the enthusiastic reception of our product line-up and our steadfast commitment to offering the world’s consumers exceptional vehicles at an unbeatable value. The rising popularity of Kia products has allowed us to become one of the world’s fastest growing auto brands in recent years.
Global PlayerOnce known solely as an exporter of motor vehicles, Kia Motors has stepped up its overseas production capabilities in order to better meet the rapidly rising demand for Kia products in foreign markets.
Complementing our flagship Hwasung plant on the outskirts of Seoul, Korea are three additional domestic production facilities, a joint venture plant in China’s Jiangsu Province and assembly lines in eight countries that produce Kia vehicles on a knock-down basis. With the addition of new plants; our first European plant in Slovakia, second facility in China at the end of 2006, and third in Georgia, USA, which we just hold a ground break ceremony in 2006. -- Kia will more than double its annual production capacity outside of Korea.
Sporting WorldDespite being a relative newcomer on the global sports marketing stage, Kia Motors has reveled in victory thanks to stepped up activities in sponsoring major events and professional athletes the world over. In addition to extending the period and scope of our core sponsorship agreements with the Australian Open and Davis Cup tennis tournaments, Kia has teamed up with more invigorating sports for the young-at-heart in order to further drive home the company’s new ‘exciting and enabling’ brand identity. The Asian X-Games and sponsoring one of rising tennis star Rafael Nadal are some examples.
Starting in 2007, Kia will become one of six official FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) partners and the beneficiary of the highest level of association with FIFA, which includes rights to the 2010 and 2014 World Cups and all other FIFA events such as the FIFA World Youth Championships, FIFA Women’s World Cups, as well as new FIFA competitions, including the FIFA Interactive World Cups and FIFA Beach Football World Cups.
